Selena's most recent work includes a new series of ink drawings that explore personal iconography such as animals, trees, dresses, dreams, light and dark, life and death.
She also paints in oil using images of dogs, birds, dresses and landscape. Selena uses paint in a sculptural way with heavy impasto technique.
Selena is Mexican American and grew up in Berkeley Ca. She has an MFA from Mills College. She first arrived to Santa Fe in 1971 and has been inspired by the life and beauty of the high desert ever since. She has lived in Santa Fe for over 25 years.
